Rush Limbaugh complained recently that critics constantly accuse him of “lying” and “making [things] up,” a charge he steadfastly dismissed. However, Media Matters has rounded up some of the whoppers he's told this week alone.

Limbaugh Whined That Critics Accuse Him Of “Lying”
Limbaugh Complained About Critics Who Accuse Him Of “Lying” And “Making [Things] Up.” On his radio show, Rush Limbaugh said:
LIMBAUGH: I'm wondering if maybe these emails are coming from actual supporters disguised as critics, because my email box gets flooded every time I make an assertion: “You're lying about it, just like you lie about everything. You're just making it up.” [Premiere Radio Networks, The Rush Limbaugh Show, 8/11/11]
But Just This Week Alone, Limbaugh Repeated A Number Of Falsehoods
Limbaugh: “The Public Does Not Want Compromise.” During a discussion with a caller about a balanced approach to deficit reduction that includes both spending cuts and tax increases, Limbaugh said:
LIMBAUGH: The public does not want compromise. That is the biggest misnomer. A majority of Americans -- I don't think it's any question about it now -- wants Obama defeated. They don't want him to compromise, and they don't want any more of Obama's ideas. And we don't want any more tax increases. [Premiere Radio Networks, The Rush Limbaugh Show, 8/12/11]

Limbaugh: Justice Department Doesn't “Believe” In “Pursu[ing] Crime Committed By Blacks Against Whites.” From the August 11 edition of The Rush Limbaugh Show:
LIMBAUGH: J. Christian Adams -- the name might ring a bell. He used to work in the Civil Rights Division of the Justice Department, and he quit when Eric Holder decided we're not going to prosecute the New Black Panthers, 'cause we don't believe here that it's possible or that it's relevant to pursue crime committed by blacks against whites. Limbaugh On Climate Change Threat To Polar Bears: “We Know That This Whole Thing Is Fraudulent.” Discussing an investigation questioning the validity behind a scientist's conclusion that climate change negatively impacts polar bears, Limbaugh said:
LIMBAUGH: I'm stunned that people ever bought that they -- polar bear here is on a melting glacier. At any rate, that -- these pictures of the polar bears on top of, you know, three feet of ice became an iconic image of the global warming debate. But the validity of the science behind the picture presented as an ignoble testament to our environmental peril by Al Gore in his movie, An Inconvenient Truth, is now part of a federal investigation that has the environmental community on edge.
[...]
LIMBAUGH: That picture, and many others like it -- remember those pictures were thrown out there by all of these people to show that the glaciers -- the glaciers -- were melting, what was left of a glacier. And now, of course we know that this whole thing is fraudulent, and it was from the get-go. Anybody with half a brain knew it was fraudulent from the get-go, if you understand the libs. Limbaugh: Obama “Inherited A AAA Credit Rating, An Unemployment Rate Of 5.7 Some Odd Percent.” Discussing S&P's decision to downgrade its rating of U.S. debt, Limbaugh claimed that President Obama “inherited a AAA credit rating, an unemployment rate of 5.7 some-odd percent. Does anybody doubt that this is on purpose?” [Premiere Radio Networks, The Rush Limbaugh Show, 8/8/11]

Limbaugh: “Now We're Up To 48 Percent Of The American People [Who] Have No Skin In The Game, Not Paying Taxes.” Limbaugh also said:
LIMBAUGH: [W]hat year did I do my April Fool's thing, tax the poor? That was 1990 some odd, right? Early 1990s, and the whole point, even though it was an April Fool's joke, the whole point of it was that a rising percentage of Americans were not paying taxes, not just the poor. And now we're up to 48 percent of the American people have no skin in the game, not paying taxes. [Premiere Radio Networks, The Rush Limbaugh Show, 8/8/11]

Limbaugh: “Somebody In The Regime Tried To Say That The Downgrade Of Our Credit Rating By Standard & Poor's Was A $2 Trillion Math Error.” Limbaugh stated:
LIMBAUGH: Somebody in the regime tried to say that the downgrade of our credit rating by Standard and Poor's was a $2 trillion math error. Remember that. Sometime over the weekend, that was Geithner. This is not the first time this regime has claimed such a thing. [Premiere Radio Networks, The Rush Limbaugh Show, 8/8/11]

Limbaugh: Allowing Bush Tax Cuts To Expire Would Not Get Us “Anywhere Close To Paying Off Our Debt.” On his radio show, Limbaugh claimed:
LIMBAUGH: There isn't the money to get anywhere close to solving our debt problem by raising taxes on quote-unquote, “those who can afford to pay a little bit more.” And this is why I say that this is being done on purpose -- he knows it. This is a concerted attack on capitalism. There can be no doubt after these remarks today that this is a concerted attack on capitalism. [Premiere Radio Networks, The Rush Limbaugh Show, 8/8/11]

Limbaugh Denied That Obama Said “Anything About The Greatness Of America.” Discussing Obama's comments in reaction to the S&P decision, Limbaugh claimed:
LIMBAUGH: Did you who listened to all of that, you watched it on television, while also listening to this program, did you hear anything inspirational? Did you hear anything uplifting? Could you hear anything about the greatness of America, and how, hey, we've been through tougher times than this and we as Americans pull together, and we know. You didn't hear any of that. You didn't hear any inspirational uplifting motivational words. You didn't even get that as a, as an attitude. You got cockiness. [Premiere Radio Networks, The Rush Limbaugh Show, 8/8/11]
