Medifast and H&R Block Confirm: No More Ads On Rush Limbaugh

Today, Medifast and H&R Block issued public statements confirming that their ads will no longer run during Rush Limbaugh's program.

Medifast, a nutrition and weight lost company with an estimated yearly revenue in excess of $200 million, will exclude their ads from Rush Limbaugh's show going forward. In a statement posted on Twitter, Medifast advised:

“we weren't aware ads were running. We have contacted and requested ads not run during his show.”

H&R Block also issued a public statement stating that the ads that had recently been aired on Limbaugh's show were run in error and that H&R Block intends to “rectify” and “remove” the spots immediately (emphasis added):

It has come to our attention that local news/traffic radio sponsorships have been aired during political radio talk shows in clear violation of our media buying guidelines. As always, H&R Block does not advertise on political talk shows -- no matter who the host -- and we're working to rectify these errors and remove the spots immediately.

Today's additions brings the total number of advertisers who have issued public statements confirming that their ads will be excluded from Rush Limbaugh's show up to 58. The full list can be found here.
