For the second day in a row, Rush Limbaugh fixated on a controversial Arizona immigration law and President Obama's campaign video calling for Democrats to mobilize African-American, Latino, women, and young voters in the upcoming midterm elections. Today, Rush accused Obama of “leading a charge” against Arizona and a “personal jihad” against Gov. Jan Brewer. Later in the show, Rush said that it made “perfect sense” that Obama would be “taking the side of the lawless,” the “drug coyotes” and the “smugglers.” Limbaugh also claimed that Democrats were guilty of hypocrisy for calling the immigration law “an outrageous usurpation of power” while simultaneously “moving to take away our salt” -- a bogus claim we debunked last week. Along these lines, Rush also accused Obama of “playing the race card” for opposing the Arizona law and for ignoring other races in his campaign video. This just one day after Rush called the Obama administration a “racist” “regime.” Limbaugh also dusted off some Rev. Wright clips and declared Wright “one of the foremost influences on President Obama's life.”
Limbaugh also spent some time on today's Senate hearings into Goldman Sachs' mortgage securities business in the run-up to the financial crisis, calling Sen. Carl Levin “the Democrats' top smear guy” and stating that “nothing Carl Levin says can be trusted.” Citing the release of emails from Goldman Sachs executives, Limbaugh suggested that Levin's emails should be released to the public. Rush also accused Democrats of creating “phony anger over class envy” by investigating Goldman Sachs and the role of investment banks in the economic crisis. After suggesting that Warren Buffett was one of “Obama's boys,” Rush said that Obama might be one of George Soros' “boys.”
