Mark Davis was the last of the three Marks to fill in for Rush, and he started off the show with some feel-good talk about the Tea Parties. He mentioned the fact that he had met Andrew Breitbart and Ginni Thomas, Clarence Thomas' wife, last night at a Tea Party event in Dallas. He then expressed mixed feelings about the Republican leadership in Congress, because they've waded into primary fights against Tea Party candidates. Davis said that regardless of how the media downplay Republican gains this fall, he'll still be happy. Davis spent some time defending the notion of Republicans behaving as the Party of No. He also expressed surprise that he enjoyed Oliver Stone's George W. Bush biopic, W, to a degree. He called Bush a “magnificent man” and said that he and Laura Bush are a “magnificent couple.”

During the second hour, Davis read from an analysis from University of Virginia professor Larry Sabato that predicted big gains for Republicans in the fall elections. He also declared the “hero of the day” to be a Wyoming man who donated $1.5 million to the legal defense fund for Arizona's immigration law. He took a caller who compared President Obama to Nero, which Davis said he preferred to the “Hitler analogies that will sometimes arise.” (A little ironic, considering he was sitting in for Rush Limbaugh.) In the historical vein, Davis said that he'd like to use a “time tunnel” to go back to the Depression to stop the New Deal.

Early in the third hour, Davis said that the results of the fall elections will hinge on Tea Party enthusiasm. In one of the show's uglier turns, Davis said that under “these people” and “this regime,” it “doesn't feel as much like America anymore.” During an extended discussion with a Muslim, Davis wondered whether Islam is in a civil war, between those who support extremism and those who don't. The caller disagreed, and Davis ended the call by thanking the caller and saying, “We've got to root for the good guys.” The rest of the show was made up of brief calls and random thoughts from Davis.
