Rush Limbaugh accused Democrats of ignoring Chicago shooting victims just a week after attacking Michelle Obama over her remarks expressing sympathy for a Chicago shooting victim.

On the April 18 edition of his radio program, Limbaugh attacked Democrats for supposedly ignoring Chicago shooting victims, saying, “There is a runaway murder rate in Chicago, and it's mostly young, black children who are being murdered in Chicago. And by the way, I don't see their parents being flown to Washington.” 

Limbaugh's remarks are stunningly at odds with comments he made just last week. On April 10, Obama delivered a speech to Chicago business leaders urging action to combat youth gun violence. The first lady spoke of Hadiya Pendleton, a 15-year-old Chicago high school student who was shot and killed in January, saying that Pendleton reminded her of herself at that age. In response, Limbaugh accused Obama of having “a chip on [her] shoulder about this country” and of doing “a disservice to the country” by drawing a comparison between herself and Pendleton. 

What's more, contrary to Limbaugh's statement, Pendleton's parents were hosted by the first lady at both the State of the Union and the White House Easter Egg Roll.
