CALLER: I know in the past, you've always stood up for the men and women in the rank and file FBI agents. They may need your voice again, especially the couple thousand have been seemingly targeted, because they worked on the January 6 case. And I know one of the main goals in the FBI of the new administration is to depoliticize it, and this appears to be a misstep in the wrong direction.
SEAN: Well, we need to look at every individual case. That's what I would say. I know Kash Patel. I've known him for a long time. He's been on the show many times, and I can tell you that I have every confidence that he's going to be fair to every individual.
I mean, you think about the disproportionate amount of resources that were given to January 6, and we had 574 riots in the summer of 2020. And we had dozens of dead Americans, way more than January 6. We had thousands of injured cops, we had billions in property damage, and we had a presidential candidate, vice president at the time, saying that the rioters won't stop, shouldn't stop, and we're not going to stop. We also had video of the crimes they committed -- many of the people that committed these crimes was all on video. And they did nothing.
You know, I do think that within the FBI -- and they're ignoring illegal immigration at the time and they're ignoring other crimes at the time -- I think that there are going to have to be hard questions for rank and file members in terms of their priority and whether or not they challenged some of the higher ups. And we need people that understand the true mission of the FBI, and maybe it's a process of re-interviewing everybody and making sure that they understand what their job is.
I mean, but they've had terrible leadership under the last two FBI directors. But I'd definitely agree with you that I want to be fair to the rank and file, and I want to make sure that, you know, the good people stay. I mean, we're going to need some -- we need trained FBI officials. I want our FBI to be the world's premier law enforcement agency again, but we can't have what's been happening, how it's been weaponized and politicized, and we can't allow that to continue either. So, we got to thread the needle there. I have a lot of confidence in Kash Patel doing that.
