Just two weeks after its launch on Fox Deportes, Fox Noticias — a daily Spanish-language news show hosted by longtime network fixture Rachel Campos-Duffy — has shown it will feature more of the same false, propagandist bigotry that appears on Fox’s broader programming.
Campos-Duffy has previously both been a Fox News host and contributor. She has spent years spreading anti-immigrant rhetoric and misinformation about abortion and COVID-19. Notably, she has also pushed the “Great Reset” conspiracy theory, which falsely claims that international climate actions are a globalist front to strip people of their freedoms. She has also spread the white supremacist “great replacement” conspiracy theory, which falsely claims that there is a plot engineered by elites to replace white Americans with nonwhite immigrants.
This is not the first time the network has tried to reach Hispanic audiences. In 2010, Fox News launched Fox News Latino, which was found to be tailoring coverage of the same news events to pander to Latino audiences before it shut down in 2016.
Now, as Fox Noticias gets into swing, Campos-Duffy has made it clear that the show will be another arm of the Fox propaganda machine, mirroring Fox News’ model by fearmongering about migrant crime, spreading misinformation about COVID-19, spreading false conspiracy theories about gender-affirming care, falsely linking Vice President Kamala Harris to communism and price controls, and, of course, playing cover-up for former President Donald Trump.
Most recently, on Fox Noticias' next-day coverage of Trump's rally at Madison Square Garden, Campos-Duffy failed to cover the racist “floating island of garbage” remarks that were made about Puerto Rico.
In just her first few weeks on Fox Noticias, Campos-Duffy has claimed there is a “deep state that is trying to manipulate us with lies and censorship,” praised Trump for supposedly being “macho,” pushed the smear that Democrats are sexualizing children, and more:
