Kagan On Cameras In the Supreme Court

During an appearance last year on C-SPAN, Elena Kagan, nominated today for the U.S. Supreme Court, was asked if cameras should be allowed in the court.

She said it was not her place to say, but said if they were allowed in, the public would see “an amazing and extraordinary event.” She added that “this court is so smart and so prepared and so engaged.” She also stated: “people would see an institution of their government working at a really high level.”
