A new USA Today/Gallup poll out Monday says some 28% of those surveyed support the Tea Party movement, with 26% opposed. Almost as significant is that the remainder, nearly half, either do not care about the issue or have no opinion.

The poll also notes that while most Tea Party backers are conservative, they come from about the same cross-section of society as the rest of the political spectrum.

But how many even know what the Tea Party movement stands for?
