On the September 27 episode, Earhardt argued that while Vice President Kamala Harris has been blaming Trump for the failed immigration bill, “he says, ‘I never called those lawmakers.’ Those lawmakers say the same thing. ‘No — he had nothing to do with it. We didn’t like the bill.'”
Earhardt’s attempt to help Trump revise history is stymied by a series of facts.
Trump publicly came out against the bill in a Truth Social post, stating, “I do not think we should do a Border Deal, at all, unless we get EVERYTHING needed to shut down the INVASION.” In a separate post, Trump wrote, “Only a fool, or a Radical Left Democrat, would vote for this horrendous Border Bill.”
Trump himself has previously owned the blame for the failed bill. At a late January rally, Trump vowed to “fight it all the way” and stated, “A lot of the senators are trying to say, respectfully, they’re blaming it on me. I say, that’s okay. Please blame it on me. Please.”
