On The O'Reilly Factor tonight, Bill O'Reilly and Greg Gutfeld mocked radio host Alex Jones, a conspiracy theorist and 9/11 Truther, for his appearance on The View and for his radical views:
BILL O'REILLY: I don't know if that was the best booking choice.
GREG GUTFELD: The real achievement here, Bill, is that this guy made the women on The View seem sane.
O'REILLY: No, here's the real achievement: they didn't walk off with that guy.
GUTFELD: Yeah, they walked off when you were there, but they actually tolerated him. The other thing is this guy thinks America is a police state, yet he has a radio program, he is allowed to say whatever he wants. They can never actually--
O'REILLY: But this is why it's so dumb. What did the ladies think they were going to get when they invite a guy like this in? I mean, he took the show over, he did exactly what he wanted and that was it.
ARTHEL NEVILLE: He gave me a headache. He gave them a headache. I don't know why they booked the guy. [Fox News, The O'Reilly Factor, 3/4/11]
O'Reilly and Gutfeld were silent on the booking choices of their Fox colleague, Andrew Napolitano. Napolitano considers Jones to be a “dear friend” and has been on Jones' program multiple times. Napolitano has in turn hosted Jones to discuss Jones' conspiracy theories about one-world government and his DVD The Obama Deception, which describes Obama as “a hoax carefully crafted by the captains of the New World Order” who “is being pushed as savior in an attempt to con the American people into accepting global slavery.”
Jones describes himself as “one of the very first founding fathers of the 9-11 Truth Movement,” and it was on Jones' radio show that Napolitano revealed himself as a 9-11 Truther, saying that “twenty years from now, people will look at 9-11 the way we look at the assassination of JFK today. It couldn't possibly have been done the way the government told us.”
On Jones' show, Napolitano told Jones that “you, my friend, are doing more than anybody I know -- I'm trying to keep up with you to educate the public in the dangers of too much government. And guess what? The message is getting through, Alex.”
During an appearance on Jones' show on October 7, 2010, Napolitano agreed with Jones that Obama would “start a wider global war as a pretext to have the empire expand.”
Maybe O'Reilly and Gutfeld should take a look around that glass house.
