Editor's note (4/2/24): On January 30, 2023, Media Matters published a story stating that Charlie Kirk falsely claimed that Black people commit more crimes than non-Black people during the January 30 edition of his radio show. We cited a 2021 report from the Department of Justice about the race and ethnicity of crime offenders and arrestees, but we misinterpreted its findings in saying Kirk was wrong; the report did not prove that.
