STEVE DOOCY (CO-HOST): So far you’ve had, you know, you gave last night a grade. Night before Mrs. Trump, Melania, made the speech. We thought the speech was terrific and then some people realized, wait, it seems like some of the passages from her speech were identical to Michelle Obama's speech years earlier. Some have suggested the first draft that was handed in didn't have any of those passages. Can you please, Paul, explain what happened?
PAUL MANAFORT: Well, I wasn't involved in the process. It was a collaborative process, what came in where, I don't know. What I do know is that Melania Trump feels that that speech reflects her personal journey from Slovenia to the United States, to becoming a American citizen, to falling in love with a man who she thinks has so much to offer to America. It was a very personal speech. For people to try to disparage that speech and say that it was something that it wasn't, you know, is once again politics. It's Hillary Clinton, once again feeling threatened by a woman and trying to destroy the woman and demean her as a way of positioning her own [inaudible]. We don't buy it.
BRIAN KILMEADE (CO-HOST): No, Paul, it was every network. It wasn't Hillary Clinton. It was every network made that the focus instead of the eight hours of speeches that took place including hers. So it seems like the networks were lining up against you guys.
MANAFORT: Well they, and they were getting fed information by the Clinton campaign. The bottomline, that speech reflected her values, not Michelle Obama's values. Michelle Obama may have similar values but she was, Melania Trump was speaking from her heart about her love for her country, her children and her family. There's nothing wrong with that. There's nothing plagiarized by that. Those are her feelings, their message resonated not only in this hall, but throughout America. And any attempt to try to disparage those remarks or disassociate them is just not going to work.
AINSLEY EARHARDT (CO-HOST): Well, Joe Biden and President Obama have been accused of lifting speeches too, so it goes on both sides.
