Riffing on Senator John Kerry's new campaign theme (unveiled September 6) that President George W. Bush's middle initial “stands for wrong,” FOX News Channel general assignment reporter Kelly Wright and FOX & Friends co-host Steve Doocy offered their own takes on Kerry's middle initial, bolstering a Bush-Cheney '04 line of attack against Kerry.
Reporting from Washington on September 7, Wright introduced his FOX & Friends campaign update as follows:
WRIGHT: Good morning. Some people would say John F. Kerry, the F stands for flip-flopping, but I didn't say that, did I?
DOOCY: No, you didn't.
WRIGHT: That's what pundits are saying as they continue to watch his campaign.
Earlier in the program, Doocy made the same charge, opining that “as brand new slogans go, 'W stands for wrong,' not very catchy,” before concluding: “Sounds like John F. Kerry, the F stands for flip-flop.”
