Laura Loomer has made a career in MAGA politics through attention-grabbing political stunts and extreme bigotry, blending her professed support for white nationalism and Islamophobia with obsessive defenses of former President Donald Trump. She has been at the forefront of the MAGA movement’s focus on undermining the 2020 election, advocating for extreme immigration policies, pushing Islamophobic rhetoric, spreading far-right conspiracy theories, and – more recently – attacking Vice President Kamala Harris, the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee, with sexist and racist remarks, falsely claiming she “is NOT black and never has been.”

Loomer’s endless pro-Trump stunts propelled her into the eyes of Trump’s inner circle, with the former president’s son even claiming he would “love to see” her as Trump’s press secretary. After Loomer’s failed runs for Congress in 2020 and 2022, Trump himself flirted with giving her a role in his 2024 campaign and has repeatedly praised Loomer and highlighted her attacks on his opponents, including Harris. Loomer’s rise through the ranks of right-wing media has been littered with caustic bigotry and extremist ideology.

  • Loomer rose to prominence by collaborating with a variety of right-wing networks, often through attention-grabbing political stunts

    • As an undergraduate at Barry University in 2014, Loomer “alerted the far-right political blog Gateway Pundit to the presence of an imam at a September 11 commemoration event on the university’s campus.” According to Georgetown University’s Bridge initiative, Loomer complained, “We live in a Judeo-Christian country, and they let the imam open up the ceremony… He was literally chanting ‘Allahu Akbar.’ That’s not cool, because that’s what the terrorists were chanting.” [The Bridge Initiative, 10/31/19]
    • The next year, Loomer partnered with Project Veritas to make an undercover video of her attempts to start a pro-ISIS student group at her college. She was suspended for causing “disruption of the University community and the creation of a hostile environment” for staff members, and school officials countered that “any paperwork submitted by the student contained no mention of ISIS.” [WTVJ, 4/6/15]
    • Loomer then worked for Project Veritas during the 2016 presidential campaign. According to The New Yorker, during her time with the organization, Loomer “performed various stunts—for example, on Election Day, she appeared at a polling station wearing a burqa and asked for a ballot under the name Huma Abedin.” [The New Yorker, 6/20/17]
    • While working with Rebel Media in 2017, Loomer again drew attention by interrupting a performance of Shakespeare’s Julius Caesar because the production’s Caesar was styled to look like Trump. She shouted, “Do you want Trump to be assassinated?” and was later arrested after being ejected from the play and charged with disorderly conduct and criminal trespass. [Media Matters, 6/19/17]
    • After a number of other political stunts, including repeatedly confronting Hillary Clinton during her book tour, Loomer left Rebel Media in September 2017. [Canadaland, 9/26/17]
    • Working with conspiracy theory network Infowars in 2018, Loomer accused then-Rep. Ted Deutch (D-FL) of “lying” about the 1994 assault weapons ban at a gun safety meeting following the Marjory Stoneman Douglas school shooting.     • Trump’s 2020 presidential campaign used an email list connected to Loomer in order to fundraise. According to Mediaite, a Trump campaign fundraising email sent in January 2020 stated “that it was sent via ‘2020 Illoominate Media,’ which is a media firm owned by Loomer, that serves as the parent company to her news site, ‘LOOMERED.com.’” [Mediaite, 2/4/20]
    • Loomer unsuccessfully ran for a seat in Congress in 2020 and 2022, blaming her latter defeat on “the voter-fraud machine.” Though she lost the general election, her Republican primary victory party in 2020 was attended by numerous far-right media figures, including Proud Boys founder Gavin McInnes, pro-Trump troll Jacob Wohl, longtime GOP operative Roger Stone, and “Stop the Steal” leader Ali Alexander. In a speech following her less successful 2022 run, which ended in a defeat in the primary election, Loomer refused to concede, citing baseless allegations of voter fraud.   • Loomer maintains a close connection to prominent right-wing figures and Trump reportedly attempted to hire her to join his 2024 campaign

    • Loomer's Twitter account was reinstated in December 2022, four years after she was banned from the platform for anti-Muslim attacks against Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN). Loomer, who has continually and publicly harassed Omar throughout her career, was suspended in 2018 for claiming the congresswoman was “pro Sharia” and “anti Jewish.” [Media Matters, 12/8/22; HuffPost, 4/11/19; Business Insider, 11/29/18; The Daily Beast, 11/21/18]
    • In 2023, Donald Trump Jr. said he would “love to see” Loomer appointed as his father’s press secretary in a second term “just to watch D.C. just explode.” On her Rumble show the next day, Loomer said she would “gladly accept,” adding that “nobody will fight for President Trump harder or defend him against the fake news media harder than I will.” [Rumble, Triggered with Donald Trump Jr., 11/9/23; Loomer Unleashed, 11/10/23]
    • Trump himself reportedly attempted to hire Loomer for a role in his 2024 campaign, but after “a firestorm among some of Mr. Trump’s most vocal conservative supporters, … a high-ranking campaign official said Ms. Loomer was no longer going to be hired.” After The New York Times’ report on the potential hiring appeared to sink the possibility, Loomer complained to the outlet that Trump was “surrounded by some people that run to a publication that is notorious for attacking him in order to try to cut me at the knees instead of being loyal to President Trump and respecting their confidentiality agreements.” [The New York Times, 4/7/23]
    • Trump has continued to publicly praise Loomer, inviting her to high-profile events and promoting her work on Truth Social. Loomer has appeared with Trump or in his crowds at multiple events during the 2024 campaign cycle. In an April address delivered from Mar-a-Lago, Trump called Loomer “a woman with courage” and warned that “you don’t want to be Loomered.” [NBC News, 1/14/24; Twitter/X, 8/13/23, 4/3/24]
    • After Loomer attacked the daughter of the judge overseeing Trump’s hush money trial, the former president directly repeated her unverified claims on Truth Social. Loomer’s attacks, which centered on a social media account purportedly run by Judge Juan Merchan’s daughter, quickly spread to right-wing media outlets including One America News and Newsmax.     • RNC co-chair Lara Trump praised Loomer, saying she “does a lot of great work online on behalf of my father-in-law and on behalf of our country.” [YouTube, Prime Time with Alex Stein, 3/5/24]
    • Loomer described herself as a “dear friend” of Arizona Republican Senate nominee Kari Lake, who has continually met with Loomer and praised her as “an incredible investigative journalist.” In May 2023, Lake promoted Loomer’s baseless claims that “a secret Elections summit” in Washington, D.C., was “a sign that the theft of the 2020 election is about to replicate itself as we head into the 2024 presidential election season.” [Media Matters, 4/4/24]
    • Loomer helped Sen. JD Vance (R-OH) raise funds while he appeared on her show in February, saying that “I really want people to donate and support you and your reelection efforts.” Vance also follows Loomer on Twitter/X. [Media Matters, 7/29/24; The Independent, 7/20/24]

  • Loomer has been a vector of electoral misinformation, pushing conspiracy theories about the 2020 election and preemptively undermining the 2024 election results

    • During one of her failed congressional campaigns, Loomer blamed “the stolen election of 2020” for division in America. Loomer also pledged to “aggressively fight … the uniparty’s voter fraud machine.” [Orange Observer, 8/18/22]
    • Loomer described the January 6 riots as “an inside job” and praised protesters as “patriots” who “protested the 2020 stolen election.” “It was also used to set the ground for stealing all future elections,” Loomer added. [Twitter/X, 1/6/24]
    • Loomer suggested that “the Deep State” was using “weather manipulation” to rig the Iowa Republican caucuses against Trump. Loomer posted a video of a weather forecast in Des Moines, Iowa and added: “Is the Deep State using HAARP to rig the Iowa Caucus?” [Media Matters, 1/12/24]
    • Loomer called to imprison “all of these communist secretaries of state who try to rig our elections” against Trump, saying “they belong in jail for election interference.” Loomer added: “They attended these Soros Zoom calls together, Shenna Bellows and Jena Griswold.” [Rumble, Loomer Unleashed, 3/5/24]
    • Loomer claimed a Dominion Voting Systems “lobbyist” was “originally put forward to be a Trump delegate” ahead of the Republican National Convention. Loomer claimed it was “another example of intentional sabotage of President Trump by paid staffers on his own campaign.” [Twitter/X, 5/20/24]
    • After CNN’s debate moderators asked Trump if he would accept the results of the 2024 election, Loomer tweeted: “No. We won’t accept the results of another stolen election.” [CNN.com, 6/28/24; Twitter/X, 6/27/24]
    • Loomer claimed that Kamala Harris “is already plotting on how she can murder as many Trump supporters as possible if she steals the election.” Reacting to a video described as showing Venezuelan security forces firing at “unarmed protesters,” Loomer declared, “Kamala Harris and @TheDemocrats will do the same thing to unarmed Americans if they steal the election this year.” [Twitter/X, 7/29/24, 7/29/24]
    • Loomer accused the Harris campaign of engaging in “psychological warfare and election interference” after a rally in Michigan, baselessly alleging that they used AI to “manipulate her campaign photos and videos” — a claim that Trump later echoed. According to Forbes, “Multiple media outlets—including the Detroit Free Press, MLive, the Detroit News, the AP and Getty Images—have shared photos or galleries from the Wednesday rally that depicted a large crowd,” and a number of outlets captured “video footage from multiple angles of Harris and Walz arriving at the rally and disembarking the plane before a cheering crowd.” [Twitter/X, 8/9/24, 8/10/24; Forbes, 8/11/24]

  • Loomer has long been a MAGA loyalist, defending Trump and his allies and calling for retaliation against his opponents

    • After Christine Blasey Ford testified that she was sexually assaulted by then-Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh, Loomer tweeted that she should be imprisoned “for life.” Loomer: “This lady should be imprisoned for lying to Congress. Seriously. Prison for life.” [Media Matters, 9/27/18]
    • After Trump was indicted for mishandling classified documents, Loomer said the United States had become “a giant, third world shit hole.” [PBS.org, 6/9/23; Twitter/X, 6/9/23]
    • Loomer: Jewish Democrats “might as well just go put yourself in a gas chamber yourself if this is how you're gonna behave." In the same interview Loomer also commented, “You are an enemy to this country if you do not vote for Donald Trump.” [The John Fredericks Show, 4/24/24]
    • Loomer suggested that “Democrats who are guilty of treason” should be executed: “If you are found guilty of treason, the punishment is death.” Loomer explained, “I know that you're gonna clip what I said tonight, and you're gonna say, ‘See, look. Laura Loomer did say she wants to execute Democrats.’ No. I said that we need to follow the Constitution, and the Constitution outlines that if you are found guilty of treason, the punishment is death. And there's a lot of people, a lot of your friends, Joe Biden, a lot of your associates who would qualify for the death penalty.” [Rumble, Loomer Unleashed, 6/4/24]
    • Following Trump’s conviction on 34 felony counts in his criminal hush money trial, Loomer called to “strip Juan Merchan of his citizenship and deport him back to the Third World hellhole he came from.” Loomer added, “He's from Colombia. Right? So he fled a Third World country in Latin America to turn our country into a Third World country.” [Rumble, Loomer Unleashed, 6/4/24]
    • After Biden withdrew from the 2024 presidential race, Loomer said he made the choice because “his administration plotted an assassination of Donald Trump and missed.” Loomer continued: “The cover up of the Biden admin’s and Deep State’s plot to assassinate Donald Trump is in full swing now. We can’t let them get away with this.” [Twitter/X, 7/21/24]
    • After former Rep. Gabby Giffords (D-AZ) tweeted in support of Kamala Harris’ campaign, Loomer said Giffords was “brain dead” and accused her husband, Arizona Sen. Mark Kelly, of “using [his] wife’s X account to appeal to” Harris. Giffords’ political efforts were limited after a 2011 assassination attempt, but AZCentral reports she “seems to be asserting herself more” lately, and in 2024, has “spent 120 days of the year’s 210 days on the road.” [Twitter/X, 7/26/24; AZCentral, 8/1/24]

  • Loomer recently made racist and sexist comments about Vice President Kamala Harris, even claiming Harris is not Black

    • Loomer called Harris, Fani Willis, and District Attorney Letitia James “ghetto Black women” and “3 angry Black women who are clearly targeting successful white men.” Loomer’s guest, Peter Brimelow of the white nationalist group VDare, said, “There's a lot of angry Black women out there in positions of authority. And there's a real question for whether they can be trusted.” [Rumble, Loomer Unleashed, 3/28/24] 
    • Loomer called Harris “a brain-dead bimbo who sucked so much c**k in order to get to the political position that she's in today.” Loomer then falsely claimed that “nowhere does she ever identify as a woman of color until, right, until she is then selected as Joe Biden's vice presidential pick, and she wants to drive home this idea that she's a Black woman.” [Rumble, Loomer Unleashed, 7/23/24]
    • Loomer used a photo of Harris’ birth certificate to claim that Harris “is NOT black and never has been,” a false claim which was reposted by Trump. Even though the certificate clearly showed that Harris’ father is from Jamaica, Loomer attempted to fault Harris by arguing that she is “the descendent of slave owners.” The Washington Post had previously reported that Harris’ great-grandmother “is thought to be both a descendant of [enslaver Hamilton] Brown and enslaved Jamaicans,” according to The Washington Post.   • Loomer's attacks on Harris fit into a pattern of her targeting Black Democrats with bigoted rhetoric

    • After Trump was indicted in Georgia’s Fulton County for attempting to overturn the state’s 2020 election results, Loomer called District Attorney Fani Willis “a straight up THOT.” Loomer added, “Baby girl belongs in a Trap House. Not a court house.” [Media Matters, 8/15/23]
    • Loomer called Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-TX) “GHETTO DEI SHANIQUA.” [Twitter/X, 5/16/24]
    • Loomer referred to Rep. Cori Bush (D-MO) as a “ghetto black woman who can barely speak English.” Loomer added that she wished Bush and Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) “would both leave my country.” [Twitter/X, 5/27/24]
    • Loomer attacked Rep. Jamaal Bowman (D-NY) with racist slurs, calling him a “ghetto-ass, you know, Ebonics-speaking, Jew-hating animal.” After Bowman was defeated in his district’s 2024 Democratic primary, Loomer said his constituents “just got tired of being represented by an animal.” [Rumble, Loomer Unleashed, 6/25/24; Twitter/X, 6/26/24]
    • Loomer cheered the death of Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee (D-TX) in July, calling her “ghetto” and suggesting she would be “going to hell.” “Even on her death bed, this ghetto b**ch couldn’t keep President Trump’s name out of her disgusting mouth,” Loomer posted. [The Daily Beast, 7/20/24]

  • Loomer has called herself “pro-white nationalism,” associated with white nationalists, and pushed antisemitic rhetoric

    • Loomer organized a 2018 anti-migrant protest with Faith Goldy, a self-declared white nationalist who publicly recited the white supremacist “14 words” slogan. [Right Wing Watch, 10/2/18] 
    • Loomer handcuffed herself to Twitter’s headquarters while wearing a yellow Star of David in protest of her ban from the platform. [NBC News, 11/29/18]
    • Loomer described herself as “pro-white nationalism.” In a 2017 podcast appearance, Loomer said, “I totally support ethnonationalism. Someone asked me ‘Are you pro-white nationalism?’ Yes. I’m pro-white nationalism.” [Angry White Men, 3/7/21] 
    • Loomer again compared her social media bans to the Holocaust, saying she wanted to get a “Holocaust-style tattoo” because of “massive digital extermination, which is a precursor to actual extermination.” Loomer added, “We are witnessing a digital Shoah, and this is digital extermination by these actual fascists and tyrants in Silicon Valley.” [Right Wing Watch, 4/8/21]
    • Loomer’s failed congressional campaigns were promoted by VDare, the recently closed anti-immigrant organization designated a white nationalist hate group by the Southern Poverty Law Center. VDare Editor Peter Brimelow explained that he “personally maxed out to Laura” because she “ran on the elemental issue of an immigration moratorium” and suggested that “mysterious last-minute vote dumps, reportedly of mail-in ballots” influenced her 2022 defeat.     • Loomer spoke at a 2022 conference organized by American Renaissance, a “race-realist, white advocacy organization” designated as a hate group by the SPLC. Loomer responded to the SPLC’s reporting on Telegram, posting, “I will not apologize for being a pro -America, white advocate, and an outspoken critic of anti-white racism.     • After rapper Ye made a series of antisemitic posts blaming Jewish people for “cancel culture,” Loomer said that “Ye does have a point in his posts.” [Media Matters, 10/10/22]
    • Loomer claimed that “so many rich Jews have a fixation on trying to destroy America.” Loomer continued, “It's not an antisemitic statement to make. I say that as a Jew myself, OK?” [Rumble, Loomer Unleashed, 1/26/24]
    • Loomer accused a Jewish migrant aid organization of “FACILITATING THE INVASION OF AMERICA AND THE GREAT REPLACEMENT!” On her Rumble show, Loomer additionally advocated for “putting a name to the faces and faces to the names of these NGO officials who are doing this. I mean, we can make these people famous.” [Media Matters, 2/28/24]

  • Loomer has called Islam “a cancer on humanity,” demonized Muslim officials, and minimized the Christchurch mosque shootings, among a litany of other Islamophobic remarks

    • Loomer described herself as a “proud islamophobe” and called Muslims “savages f**king everything up for everyone.” In a lengthy Twitter tirade following a 2017 terror attack in New York, Loomer also suggested that “we should never let another Muslim into the civilized world.” [Right Wing Watch, 11/1/17; The New York Times, 10/31/17]
    • Loomer was banned from Uber and Lyft after a public tirade in which she called for the creation of “a non Islamic form of” the rideshare services “because I never want to support another Islamic immigrant driver.” According to NBC, Loomer “also posted a photo of two women wearing hijabs near the intersection where Tuesday's attacks occurred, writing ‘I bet they’re loving this.’” [NBC News, 11/2/17]
    • After the 2019 Christchurch mosque shootings left 51 Muslim worshippers dead in New Zealand, Loomer posted on Telegram, “Nobody cares about Christchurch.” Loomer declared, “When every single Muslim on the Planet condemns terrorism, then maybe we can talk.” [Reuters, 8/27/20; Twitter/X, 5/17/19]
    • Loomer pushed the lie that Notre Dame catching on fire was related to a Muslim woman arrested for an attempted car bombing. [Media Matters, 4/16/19]
    • PayPal banned Loomer from their platform in 2019 after Right Wing Watch reported on her affiliation with United West, an “anti-Muslim hate group.” [The Hill, 2/5/19; Right Wing Watch, 2/4/19; Southern Poverty Law Center, accessed 8/2/24]
    • Loomer called Islam “a cancer on humanity” and argued that “Muslims should not be allowed to seek positions of political office in this country.” In an Islamophboic rant on Instagram, Loomer continually attacked Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN), who she accused of “pushing for another 9/11” and “being friends with the 19 hijackers responsible for the Sept. 11 terror attack.” [Media Matters, 4/11/19; HuffPost, 4/11/19] 
    • Loomer repeatedly pushed a baseless smear accusing Omar of marrying her brother. Loomer went as far as to harass Omar in person, asking, “Why did you marry your brother?” at a campaign event in 2018. [Media Matters, 7/25/19]
    • Loomer has called to remove Palestinians from government positions and said “for the sake of humanity and what is righteous and good in the war on evil, Israel must level GAZA, flatten it into a parking lot, and then glass it.” Loomer attacked Maher Bitar, a Palestinian American in President Joe Biden’s National Security Council, calling him one of the “Islamic infiltrators in our government” and saying, “Do you think that it's acceptable to have a hostile Muslim in charge of our intel in this country?     • Loomer went on a wildly racist rant in which she professed support for “IQ science” and called Omar a “black dog” and “jihadist infiltrator” whose “district is literally Somalia.” Loomer also referred to Omar’s constituents as “modern-day jihadi welfare queens.” [Rumble, Loomer Unleashed, 1/31/24]
    • Loomer again attacked Omar and Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-MI) on Steve Bannon’s War Room podcast, calling them “jihadists.” [Real America’s Voice, War Room, 2/29/24]
    • Loomer said that “people like” Muslim reporter Medhi Hasan “need to be purged from this country” or else “we're gonna have another 9/11 on steroids.” Loomer also called Hasan a “terrorist sympathizer.” [Rumble, Loomer Unleashed, 2/1/24]
    • On right-wing talk show Unleashed with Marc Morano, Loomer said Islam was “incompatible with our values here in America and also Western civilization.” Loomer argued, “I don't think that there's any such thing as Islamophobia because a phobia is an irrational fear.” [TNT Radio, Unleashed with Marc Morano, 3/7/24]
    • Loomer advised her viewers to “avoid public transportation” on Easter weekend because of “Islamic jihadists that are entering our country right now through the Southern border.” Loomer then baselessly suggested the collapse of the Francis Scott Key Bridge, attributed by the National Transportation Safety Board to “electrical failures” onboard the ship that crashed into the bridge, may have been due to a terror attack, adding, “You know, they're still doing an investigation, so who knows?” [Rumble, Loomer Unleashed, 3/28/24; The New York Times, 3/26/24] 
    • Loomer: Muslims “want to dominate the United States of America, which involves … subverting our government, infiltrating our government, and ultimately taking over our government and installing an Islamic caliphate.” Loomer additionally claimed, “There is no such thing as Palestine.” [Rumble, Life of Loomer, 6/21/24] 
    • Loomer later warned again of an alleged “Islamo-fascist communist takeover” of the West, predicting that “we are going to have an Islamic caliphate” if Kamala Harris wins the 2024 election. [Rumble, Loomer Unleashed, 8/6/24]

  • Loomer has spread anti-migrant commentary, including the “great replacement” conspiracy theory

    • In response to reporting that over 2,000 migrants had died crossing the Mediterranean Sea in 2017, Loomer tweeted, “Good. … Here’s to 2,000 more.” Someone replied “That’s not right,” and Loomer responded, “Coming into the western world illegally and spreading Islam like AIDS and refusing to assimilate and raping our women is ‘not right.’” [Twitter/X, 7/25/17]
    • Loomer said that the great replacement conspiracy theory is “very real.” Loomer: “We are being replaced in this country by third-world invaders, criminal, illegal alien invaders.” [Rumble, Loomer Unleashed, 1/12/24]
    • Loomer warned that “Third Worlders from shitholes” would “try to replace us. They are replacing us.” “This is a replacement strategy,” Loomer continued, “not just to replace white Americans and replace the majority population in our country, but also to replace our votes as American voters.” [Rumble, Loomer Unleashed, 2/27/24]
    • Speaking about the potential of anti-immigrant vigilante violence, Loomer said,“I'm not gonna care when it happens. ... They're pushing people to the brink.” [Rumble, Loomer Unleashed, 3/8/24]
    • Loomer announced plans to raise $100,000 for a documentary titled “The Great Replacement,” claiming there is a “genocide” of “native white populations.” [Rumble, Loomer Unleashed, 3/12/24]
    • Loomer called for a “full-blown immigration moratorium,” saying that “nationalism keeps you safe. Profiling keeps you safe.   • Loomer has repeatedly spread conspiracy theories about shootings and other tragedies, even attacking some survivors

    • Loomer spread conspiracy theories about the 2018 Sante Fe High School mass shooting, sharing a fake photo of the shooter and baselessly suggesting he was a “radical leftist.” After learning that the school and local hospital had recently gone through training drills for active shooter and mass casualty events, Loomer appeared to suggest the shooting was a false flag, saying, “I’m sorry, but I can’t help but notice these ‘coincidences.’” [Media Matters, 5/23/18, 5/18/18]
    • After the 2017 mass shooting in Las Vegas, Loomer claimed that the “Federal Bureau of Islam” and “deep state” had covered up evidence that it was an ISIS-connected “terrorist attack.” Loomer further spread these claims on conspiracy theorist Alex Jones’ Infowars network, claiming without evidence that the shooter was a “hardcore leftist with Antifa connections who became radicalized through ISIS.” [Media Matters, 10/4/17, Right Wing Watch, 10/3/17]
    • Loomer attacked survivors of the 2018 Parkland shooting after they gave an interview to BuzzFeed, complaining that the media “aren’t talking to the pro gun ROTC students who actually saved lives, unlike these students.” Loomer also claimed, “It’s obvious these kids are reading a screen or notes someone else wrote for them.” [Media Matters, 2/20/18]
