Monty Cook, editor of The Baltimore Sun, is stepping down to help oversee a project at the University of North Carolina - Chapel Hill, described as an “experimental digital news and audience research initiative.”

Associated Press reported that Cook plans to step down, citing a memo from Publisher Timothy E. Ryan. He will be replaced by print content editor Mary Corey until a replacement is found.
