In the face of widespread criticism of C-SPAN's previously announced plan to air a speech by Holocaust denier David Irving as a means of “balancing” its broadcast of a talk by Holocaust studies professor Deborah Lipstadt, the network decided to air neither. Instead, it showed brief clips of the two in the context of a 65-minute program discussing Irving's unsuccessful libel suit against Lipstadt in Great Britain.
