Urban Meyer, head coach for the University of Florida football team, got into a confrontation with an Orlando Sentinel reporter and criticized him for writing that a current player was unhappy with former quarterback Tim Tebow.
Jeremy Fowler had written a blog item quoting wide receiver Deonte Thompson that said Thompson was happier to be playing with new quarterback John Brantley than Tebow, the former Heisman Trophy winner now headed to the pros
“If that was my son, we'd be going at it right now,” Fowler quoted Meyer as saying in a story today. He added that Meyer singled him out “in front of about 15 or 20 reporters gathered after Wednesday's practice.”
