MARK LEVIN (HOST): NBC News, ranking member lieutenant -- excuse me, Liz Cheney, said at the end of her closing statement that former president Donald Trump, quote, tried to call a witness in our investigation, unquote, following the committee's last hearing which was June 20 -- they've had a thousand witnesses.
So what if he tried to call? This isn't a court of law. This is a hearing process, I thought. He's allowed to call whomever he wishes.
"That person declined to answer or respond to President Trump's call and instead alerted their lawyer to the call. Their lawyer alerted us, and this committee has supplied that information to the Department of Justice" -- for what?
