GRETA VAN SUSTEREN (HOST): OK, here's a really weird question, because I would have loved to have interviewed Richard Nixon. What do you think he would think about this?

MONICA CROWLEY (GUEST): Oh, you know, he actually knew Donald Trump in New York. And there's a very famous letter that Richard Nixon wrote to Donald Trump in 1987, 1988. And he wrote to him, he said, dear Donald, I did not see The Phil Donahue Show. but Mrs. Nixon sighed, and she was so impressed by your performance, she thought that if you ran for public office, you would win. And he said, and I second that.

ROB SCHMITT (HOST): Wow.

CROWLEY: And President Trump has it as a prized possession. I think Richard Nixon would be advising President Trump. I think they would be very closely aligned. And remember, the America First movement actually began with Richard Nixon as the great silent majority. This is the exact same movement. So the great silent majority became the Reagan Revolution, became the Tea Party, became America First. There's a straight line from Richard Nixon to Donald Trump.

SCHMITT: that's really good history. I like that a lot.
