ARI MELBER (MSNBC CHIEF LEGAL CORRESPONDENT): Donald Trump’s not saying we need to get this done or these investigations will exonerate me because the facts are on my side. He's saying quote, today, “Republicans need to take control.” There's not a Republican or Democratic version of factual justice. Right? Either there's a conspiracy or there wasn't. If there wasn't, and Bob Mueller -- who by the way happens to be a Republican, he is in control of the probe -- if he doesn't find the evidence, I don't think anyone really believes who’s seriously looked at this he's going to go farther. And so some of that goes to a sort of a lack of patience that Donald Trump has. I don't know if you ever listen to the rapper Future, Ali --
ALI VELSHI (HOST): I do.
MELBER: But he said, “I'm like a bad doctor. I ain't got no patients.” And sometimes there's a lack of patience here. And if the White House believes, as I've reported their lawyers say, that the facts will exonerate Donald Trump, let the investigations finish up. And the facts will, with patience, out.
ALI VELSHI: The problem is, it continues to speak to -- or at least Donald Trump sees this as an attack on his legitimacy. And what a lot of Republicans have told me and you is that no votes were changed, can you identify a vote that's been changed. But this problem is bigger than votes being changed. As Ken said, the social media side of this is very impactful. The idea that millions of Americans, probably more Americans saw lies than the truth if they were getting it off of Facebook in the last election. So it's more than a vote being changed in a ballot box. It's an influence campaign. And unless the president and Republicans are on side, we may not make much headway in getting this solved.
