In Sunday's opinion section, the Times described Obama's approval ratings this way:

[A]ccording to a new ABC News-Washington Post poll, [they] hover just above 40 percent.

Not true. As we noted yesterday, according to the new ABC News-Washington Post poll, Obama's approval ratings hover around 50 percent. But the Times still has not corrected the obvious error.

For the record though, the Times in today's edition did correct these previously published errors:

A report on Friday about the British Open misspelled the surname of a golfer who made a quadruple bogey. He is Anders Hansen, not Hanson.

And:

A report in the ''Arts, Briefly'' column on Monday about the annual Broadway in Bryant Park series featuring performers from Broadway and Off Broadway productions misidentified the shows from which cast members will be performing this Thursday at 12:30 p.m. They are ''Chicago,'' ''A Little Night Music,'' ''Falling for Eve'' and ''Rock of Ages.'' Cast members from the shows listed in the report -- ''The Phantom of the Opera,'' ''Billy Elliot,'' ''Memphis,'' ''South Pacific'' and ''The Radio City Christmas Spectacular'' -- performed last week.

And:

A picture caption in some editions on Wednesday with an obituary about George Steinbrenner, the principal owner of the New York Yankees, referred incorrectly to the circumstances under which a 1978 photo was taken. It showed Mr. Steinbrenner with Billy Martin after Mr. Martin had resigned as Yankees manager, ending his first stint in that position, which began in 1975. It did not show Mr. Steinbrenner introducing Mr. Martin as manager.

Hopefully it's just a matter of time before editors get around to correcting the daily's erroneous claim about Obama's approval ratings.
