Rudy Giuliani: “Maybe we should have brought guns to that insurrection”

Media reporting and court documents have conclusively proven several rioters had firearms as well as other weapons during the insurrection. At least nine people who were at or around the Capitol were reportedly arrested on weapons charges. Giuliani’s false claim echoes that of other right-wing figures, such as former Fox News host Tucker Carlson.

RUDY GIULIANI (HOST): Isn't there something wrong that we just did that, and we all laughed? Don't you feel funny when they laugh?

...

GIULIANI: But don't you feel like, this is so serious? We shouldn't be – what else are we gonna do though? We can't – we can't go remove them. I mean, we tried that once, the insurrection, it didn't work. Maybe we should have brought guns to that insurrection, I don't know.

GIULIANI: I was kidding. I’m kidding. It was a joke. I was being sarcastic that it wasn't an insurrection.
