On December 16, radio host Rush Limbaugh attended a holiday party at the White House. On the December 17 edition of The Rush Limbaugh Show, he told viewers about speaking to President Bush at the party and walking in with FOX News Channel president Roger Ailes.
LIMBAUGH: But here's the thing -- at every one of these things, the president and the first lady stand alone in a room downstairs, one level down from where the -- the main party is taking place, and they stand there for an hour-and-a-half for each session. There's a 5 p.m. party yesterday and there was an 8 p.m. party yesterday. I went to the primetime party at 8. So from, I guess 5 to 7, the president's down there with the first lady and then, again, from 8 to 9:30, he's down there.
And this just -- and they just stand there. And they ran, pick people through their pictures and get their pictures taken. But I told him last night, I said, “You know, you -- you -- you're -- whatever they pay you for this job -- I'm not sure what it is any more -- whatever they pay you, you're earning it just doing this.” Just -- for almost three weeks of the -- of the month of December.
Got a big hug from the president when I -- when I went through the line last night. It was -- it was just really cool.

And there's -- there are a lot of people. I walked in with Roger Ailes. We arrived at the -- at the same time, and -- and Ailes looked at me and said, “Hey, Rush. Let's walk in together. They'll think it's a giant conspiracy.” And I said, “I'm on. I'm up for it.” So we did. It was just a -- just a great time. Saw a lots -- a lot -- a lot of people I haven't seen in a while, and met some people I haven't met before. It was just a tremendous night.
