Last night on Hannity, Sarah Palin defended her appearance on her TLC reality show from Karl Rove's criticism by claiming, “We're not to just be sitting there in our own little circle of influence and though the Fox News viewership is huge, larger than any other news organization of course, just preaching to the choir with Fox viewers?”
Is she serious?
Palin has almost exclusively conducted her media relations through Fox News for the past year. As previously documented she avoided news programs on ABC, NBC, CBS, CNN and MSNBC through September, preferring to -- in the words of advice she gave Christine O'Donnell -- “speak through Fox News.” In that time period, Palin's sole non-Fox News media appearance was on Dancing With The Stars. Since then, Palin has made an exception or two for outlets like the New York Times, who produced a sympathetic profile of her, but she has still confined herself largely to friendly interviews on Fox News.
Even sillier, in the same Hannity appearance Palin said she “will not waste my time” with “biased” reporters like Katie Couric who asked her the infamously tough question "[W]hat newspapers and magazines did you regularly read before you were tapped for this to stay informed and to understand the world?"
On Fox & Friends this morning, co-host Gretchen Carlson teased an upcoming interview she has with Palin to promote her new book. Carlson noted, “she's doing just a handful of interviews.”
Cue the choir.
