In podcast interview, Tom Homan promises to use “private sector” and “deputize” citizens to help round up suspected undocumented immigrants Written by Media Matters Staff Published 01/16/25 3:10 PM EST Updated 01/16/25 3:33 PM EST Video file Citation From the January 14, 2025, edition of Rose Unplugged, streamed on Rumble TOM HOMAN (INCOMING TRUMP “BORDER CZAR”): So, look, we got a lot of people to find, and we got to find them. And we're going to do it. And — but I'm telling you right now, it's going to be hard. So that's why we're — especially with children, we're going to bring in some private sector organizations that work trafficking on their own. We're also going to count on the American people. We have to deputize every American citizen, especially parents, right? Parents have an innate ability to recognize when something's not right with a child. So we want people who look and pay attention. If you see something, say something, and make a phone call from a provided 1-800 number. And, look, if even if one out of every hundred phone calls turn up that a child is being abused, that's one child we can save. So we're going to count on the American people to step up for this thing too. So that's something — you know, bring in the private sector is going to be great because I think every American citizen is sick over this issue. I think they're all going to volunteer to step in and do what they can do to help us. Update (1/16/25): This piece was updated with an extended video.
