Fox News host Megyn Kelly and correspondent Trace Gallagher gave equal weight to news reports from The New York Times about Donald Trump’s $915 million loss shown on his 1995 tax returns and reports from right-wing websites Drudge Report and True Pundit on debunked Clinton conspiracy theories focusing on illegitimate children and supposed plans by Hillary Clinton to carry out a drone strike targeting Julian Assange. Kelly later placed the debunked conspiracy theories on equal footing with reports about Trump’s tax situation, which Trump has not denied, and a cease & desist letter from New York’s Attorney General to the Trump Foundation based on raising money illegally, by referring to both as “hit pieces."
