Trump confidant Roger Stone advocated for the execution of several former government officials if President Donald Trump is reelected, alleging that they attempted a “coup” against the president. The remark was made on the Bubba The Love Sponge Show, where Stone also claimed without evidence that Democrats are going to steal the election and then use “armed hooligans” to “burn and loot and rape and destroy until they get their way.”
In a video posted on November 2 to Bubba The Love Sponge’s YouTube channel, Stone said that the legal system is broken “and if the president is not reelected, the system will never be fixed.” He went on to list several former government officials who, if Trump wins, “must be tried and convicted of treason” and then “they must be hung by the neck until dead” because of their supposed participation in a “coup” attempt. The former officials Stone wants to see executed are:
- Former CIA Director John Brennan
- Former FBI Director James Comey
- Former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper
- Former FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe
- Former Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein
Stone, who was convicted of seven felonies as a part of special counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation into 2016 election interference, received a commutation of his 40-month prison sentence from Trump in July. In the weeks leading up to the clemency grant, Stone made media appearances at conservative outlets where he repeatedly argued to Trump that he should receive clemency so he could better assist the president’s 2020 reelection efforts.
To that end, Stone has spent the lead-up to the election pushing conspiracy theories about voter fraud. On the basis of Stone’s false claims, he has advised Trump to take several draconian actions in order to stay in power following the election, including having federal authorities seize ballots in Nevada, having FBI agents and Republican state officials “physically” block voting under the pretext of preventing voter fraud, using martial law or the Insurrection Act to carry out widespread arrests, and nationalizing state police forces.
Stone again pushed voter fraud conspiracy theories on the Bubba The Love Sponge Show, claiming that Democrats “intend to steal this election through voter fraud” and “then they intend to send armed hooligans into every city and country to burn and loot and rape and destroy until they get their way.”
Stone has also been hitting the campaign trail, including appearing at an event this week in Georgia for Republican Senate candidate Rep. Doug Collins.
The Bubba The Love Sponge Show is where Fox News host Tucker Carlson infamously made racist, misogynist, and perverted comments across numerous appearances.
