The Wall Street Journal hit a new low Friday, giving Op-Ed space to Rush Limbaugh for what appears to be one of the harsher slams of liberal views, including yet another claim that they hate America.
“I do not hate the government, as the left does when it is not running it. I love this country,” Limbaugh claims, later adding, “The Obama/Clinton/media left are comfortable with the unrest in our society today. It allows them to blame and demonize their opponents (doctors, insurance companies, Wall Street, talk radio, Fox News) in order to portray their regime as the great healer of all our ills, thus expanding their power and control over our society.”
This is typical Limbaugh rhetoric that adds nothing to the conversation. It is a wonder why the Journal would give up such space for a diatribe that offers nothing new or constructive and repeats poor stereotypes and unsupported contentions.
Calls to Journal Editorial Page Editor Paul Gigot were not immediately returned. A Journal spokeswoman says this is not Limbaugh's first Op-Ed. But perhaps it is one of his most offensive.
