In a June 4 column, Wall Street Journal editorial page deputy editor Daniel Henninger wrote that political opponents of President George W. Bush are “participants in the political paranormal [who] share a slightly psycho desire to remove George Bush from the presidency.”
Henninger referred to former Vice President Al Gore's “semi-hinged political style” and compared him to infamous red-baiting Senator Joseph McCarthy.
Henninger also compared German-born filmmaker Roland Emmerich -- the director/writer/producer of The Day After Tomorrow, a new Hollywood film depicting a nightmare scenario in which global warming causes severe and sudden weather to ravage North America -- to infamous Nazi-propaganda filmmaker Leni Riefenstahl.
Henninger's weekly “Wonder Land” column appears in The Wall Street Journal and on OpinionJournal.com.
